Fiberglass offers both a very particular feel while fishing and, in certain circumstances, an undeniable technical advantage. With the Redneck, we've fully embraced this technical advantage.
S2 fiberglass allows us to offer an 8'6" blank with a mid-tip flex action that remains relatively lightweight and, above all, capable of minimizing tip bounce.
Fiberglass naturally accommodates a wide range of line weights. The Redneck's power (IP=115g, 6-weight) was chosen to take full advantage of this extreme versatility. It can smoothly present beautiful mouthfeels with dry flies, sedges, and terrestrial flies on a WF5 line. It can also cast effectively with a WF6 or WF7, floating or intermediate weight, and fish for trout and predators with streamers and large surface flies (poppers and gurglers). The S2 fiberglass and the blank's taper allow you to control a bass with complete confidence. The Redneck will also be the weapon of choice for medium-sized carp, shad, and mullet, combining the finesse required for presenting large nymphs with the high strength of fiberglass for those powerful fights. In short, the Redneck concept is finesse at the tip, and a big fight behind it.
